We are a family business working alongside the Bayano community, on the shore of the second largest lake in Panama. We opened in 2020 with a simple idea: that here you could trade noise for nature, and rushing for time.

Bayano Caves began in 2020 as a family business, on the shore of the second largest lake in Panama and alongside the Bayano community, in Pueblo Nuevo.
Our mission is easy to say and hard to do well: to share the beauty of Bayano and keep the benefit in the community. That is why the restaurant is run by entrepreneurs from here, the guides and boat captains are local, and crafts are sold directly to our guests, with no middleman.

The cabins were built by artisans from the community. There is no street lighting for miles, so at night the sky is whole, and there is only one way in: by boat.
We want to grow without ceasing to be this: a sustainable business that contributes to its community. And we want you to leave feeling you have returned to what matters.
The restaurant is run by entrepreneurs from the local community. On weekends we hand over our private cabin to the Emberá Majé community so they can offer their services and crafts directly, with no middleman.
