Come have a great day of adventure with us! The trip includes:

Parking in our meeting point: Restaurante Madugandí.
Round-trip boat transportation from our meeting point to the different stops of the tour (does not include car transportation from the city).
Guided exploration of the caves with safety equipment (helmet, lantern, life vest and stick).
Kayaking through the Rio Tigre Canyon.
Access to the touristic cabin of Rio Tigre.
Access to our private installations with bathroom services, hammocks, resting areas and photo spots!
Lunch: fried tilapia, friend plantain, salad and lemonade. Yum! (chicken and vegan options available with previous request).
Don't forget your water flask! We do refill to avoid plastic bottles and take care of our beautiful environment.

Tour starts at 8:00 AM and finishes around 3:00 PM. All tours are made with previous reservation. Please inquire about availability for your group on the desired date for the trip.

EMBERÁ EXPERIENCE: SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS

We want to support the indigenous community of Emberá Majé by inviting them to our private cabin in order to sell their services and handcrafts during the weekends. These are some of the services they offer during their visit:

The use of Emberá culture costumes.
Tattoo with jagua, typical of the culture.
Sale of parumas (native clothes) and handcrafts.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know this beautiful culture and support their community! All prices must be consulted and paid directly to the Emberá people. This event is subject to the availability of the Emberá Majé community, please ask or request their visit for the desired date of your trip to Bayano.

Our meeting point is the Restaurante Madugandí, which is located 300 meters before the Bayano Bridge. The arrival time for a day-trip is 8:00 A.M. to start the tour at 8:30 A.M. o'clock. The arrival time for lodging is 3:00 P.M for all our guests.

To get to the restaurant, you can take the Corredor Sur and continue straight until you reach the Inter-American Highway towards Daríén. You must continue straight on that road for an hour until you almost reach the Bayano Bridge, where 300 meters before you will see the Madugandí Restaurant on the right hand side of the road. You can easily reach the place by putting "Restaurante Madugandi" in Waze or Google Maps. You may also use the link below!

After arriving at the meeting point, please wait for the guides in the parking area. They will look for you and take you to the boarding area when ready.

It is a 2-hour car trip from the city of Panama, so it is advisable to leave at least 2 hours before arrival time in order to get there on time. The return time at the end of the day-tour or lodging is around 3:00 P.M.

Tips for a better experience:

On the way to the meeting point you may find several checkpoints of the national police, traffic police or border police, it is important that you carry your license (if driving) and personal ID or passport with you and keep it in a safe place during the tour.

It is allowed to bring snacks and a small cooler with drinks for the tour. Moreover, help us to minimize the consumption of disposable water bottles and bring your own flask. We can refill them!

Wear appropriate footwear to explore the caves, such as trekking shoes, sport shoes, or thick-soled aqua shoes. It is NOT allowed to enter the caves barefoot, in sandals or in Crocs. You can bring some extra sandals or aqua shoes to wear on the campground or when kayaking.

Wear comfortable, quick-drying sportswear. For the caves, it is advisable to wear long sleeves and leggings to avoid scratches and change them for t-shirts and shorts when kayaking. For convenience, bring a complete change of clothes to change into at the end of the tour.

The use of cell phones and cameras is allowed under your own care. We recommend using waterproof covers, Ziplocs and covers. We are not responsible for loss or damage to any device during the tour.

It is FORBIDDEN to enter alcoholic beverages into the caves or the river and its surroundings and / or to take the tour while intoxicated.

In case you have an aversion or allergy to fish or follow a vegan or vegetarian diet, please inform us at least one day in advance so that we can offer an alternative at lunch.

This tour is not recommended for people who suffer from claustrophobia, extreme fear of the dark, or phobia of bats, insects or other elements of the cave ecosystem.

This tour is not suitable for children under 12 years of age, the very elderly or individuals with any physical condition that may cause discomfort or poor performance. Be aware of entering the caves according to your abilities, at your own risk and always respecting nature. Bayano Caves reserves the right of admission when considering whether the person is skillfully capable of completing the tour.

TERMS OF RESERVATION

RESERVATIONS

You can make a reservation with the full payment for the reservation. Please before the payment , make sure there is availability for the dates you want to do the reservation.

REFUNDS AND RESCHEDULES

The money received will be 100% refundable if they are notified no later than 7 days before the reservation date. Refunds do not apply for rescheduled dates or holidays.

In case you want to reschedule, you will have 30 days before the date scheduled to make your new reservation.

WEATHER CONDITIONS

In the event that the tour cannot be carried out due to adverse weather conditions in the area, it may be rescheduled at no additional cost. However we wont do refunds, only reschedules.
