live The Experience

We invite you on this adventure to explore and enjoy Bayano Lake, a manmade lake that was created to provide electricity to Panama and Darien Provinces. Upon arrival to this unforgettable venture, you will enjoy a 25-minute journey of sightseeing before you arrive to our private cabin. Throughout this route, you will obseve the islands that were formed after the Bayano River was dammed in 1976 and pre-existing mountains were converted into these islands.

You may expect to see many species of tropical birds and exotic wildlife in a calm setting of sunken trees around the lake. The focal point of this trip is to explore the cave located in the community of Pueblo Nuevo, the heart of Bayano. Traveling through the cave, there are multiple stalactites and stalagmites. As you explore deep into it, an underground little river with gleaming sunlight can be viewed and enjoyed. The cave is a perfect habitat for bats and it houses 3 varieties of them.

We work together with the local community. Our goal is to become an epicenter of natural tourism in Panama and boost the development of our communities in Bayano. During the trip, you will get to paddle across the Rio Tigre Canyon and use its tourism center. You may also rest, take the sun, have lunch, and use kayaks and SUP at our private cabin located in our little island. We also offer experiences to meet the indigenous community of Emberá Majé and wear their cultural costumes.
